Military officially deployed

Ok, talk about cognitive dissonance. Thousands of people are celebrating in the streets and meanwhile, a military coup may or may not have just taken place. What we know is that the leaders of the Egyptian armed forces recently met with opposition and religious leaders and have announced that a statement will be forthcoming. Morsi has been moved to a safe location “for his own safety” and a travel ban has been placed on Muslim Brotherhood leadership. Several people have reported tanks being deployed to the pro-Morsi protests and apparently Tahrir as well. The streets of Doqqi are quiet and mostly empty, but I can hear cheering and whistling from my balcony window. News broadcasters are trying to fill airtime by demanding “Why has the statement from the army not arrived?”
